Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

This piece from Shadia's CityScape Series depicts an urban skyline. This heavily textured abstract features a range of muted to vibrant tones, making it suitable for contemporary and transitional space. The silhouette, while not literal or specific to a particular area, is suggestive of a skyline, and the shimmering metallic surface is stunning.
My most recent work draws more inspiration from color and texture than distinct subject matters, and my objective remains to imbue my canvasses with a sense of emotion. Through the intricate texture and vibrant color in my pieces, I aim to create a visceral response in the viewer; my hope is that the viewer may connect with them emotionally rather than through conscious, deliberate effort. In this way, viewers create their own interpretations through this initial connection, and the narrative of the piece becomes secondary. I was born and raised in Southeastern Michigan.
