Description
I took a trip to Mount Evans in Colorado on September 9, 2015. It was a spetacular road trip with another photographer, and we had so many things to see in a day.
To begin with, this road is the highest paved road in America, the heights are positively dizzying. We were actually higher than the clouds at multiple points of the days travels.
We saw Mount Evans, Echo Lake, Summit Lake, the enormous black masiff of the Chicago Peaks, and the Chicago Lakes.
We were at about 12,000 feet, the highest summit was 14,271 feet.
The weather was already cold, the wind was biting, and we had brooding rain clouds all day. The surreal beauty made a great opportunity to take photos. I had never seen a tundra up close before this day. I was amazed at how vivid the colors were. I hope you enjoy what I captured.
This was one of my favorite shots from the day. I love the combination of water, earth, and sky,
